Nuclear Throne’s Update #100: a Game-Changer for Roguelike Fans
The beloved roguelike top-down shooter Nuclear Throne received a major boost with the release of update #100, bringing fresh content and technical enhancements that cater to both longtime fans and newcomers. Released in December 2025, this update introduces a new character, Cuz, who wields a powerful Cry ability to damage enemies and carry three weapons simultaneously. This addition not only expands the roster to thirteen unique characters but also enriches gameplay dynamics, making runs even more varied and exciting.
The update also introduces a Custom mode, allowing players to personalize their gaming experiences and create unique challenges. With localization now available in 15 languages, including French, Spanish, and Simplified Chinese, Nuclear Throne is more accessible than ever. Players can now enjoy local co-op for up to four participants, complete with revamped mechanics for reviving teammates and Ultra Mutations tailored for cooperative play. Technical improvements include support for 60+ frames per second, widescreen compatibility, and Steam Deck Verified status, ensuring a smooth gaming experience on modern hardware.
